Konokono is the sister lodge to the amazing Kasha and Seyyid hotels. There are only 11 villas on this huge plot of land, part of which falls into a national conservation area. Konokono is located on the Michamvi Peninsula on the South-East coast of Zanzibar. It offers a very exclusive and personal experience and is a great option for anyone who is looking to truly escape for a while. Konokono has 11 private villas, 4 beach front, 4 jungle front and 4 jungle back. Each villa has it’s own private plunge pool and spacious private garden. The open air bath tubs are a nice touch as are the wide verandah areas.
The coastline around Konokono is far less tidal than other parts of Zanzibar and is nicer for swimming as the beach is not as gradual as much of the island.
Breakfast is brought to your room every morning and evening meals are served on candle lit tables spread out on the beach! Other facilities include, the Jungle Terrace Restaurant, The Jungle Bar, Kono Kono’s Beach Bar and a romantic beach restaurant. There is also a large beach side swimming pool and the Jungle Health Spa which offers a variety of treatments.
Diving, snorkeling and other excursions are easily organised and as this area is part of a conservation area it boasts a range of plant and animals species.
