Kasha is an amazing boutique option without the price tag

Kasha is a beautiful and luxurious experience without the much steeper price tag of some of the other higher end resorts on the island. It is really well located on Zanzibar and is a beautiful location overlooking a coral reef.

A few words from recent Kasha guests: “Our trip was really amazing, Kasha was spectacular and the perfect place to relax. We have already recommended both Pepper and Kasha to a friend. We will certainly pass on the word about you guys. Thanks again for all your help and attentive service.”

It is built in a stunning position on a cliff overlooking the lagoon of the Mneba Atoll coral reef. It is in the north eastern coast of the island near Matemwe and is about an hours drive from Stone Town and the airport.

Kasha is run by a great team and has an amazing personal feel to the place. Even though it is relatively new compared to some resorts on the island, it has got great feedback from the start and we highly recommend Kasha! Comprised of 11 Swahili-Arabic styled luxury villas, this is a real escape from the world. Each has an outdoor lounge, sun terrace and splash pool where you can enjoy the sounds of Indian Ocean waves lapping gently against the coral barrier reef.

This area has been declared a conservation zone and provides great diving and snorkelling with the opportunities to encounter whale sharks, bottlenose dolphins and green sea turtles. Between the months of August and November the whale shark migration passes very close to the shores.

During high tide you can take a stroll along this pristine 15km stretch of Matemwe beach. Even better, during low tide you can take a bicycle and cycle along the shoreline encountering local fishermen, boys playing football and ladies collecting seaweed. Kasha is also able to organise dhow trips throughout the day for anything from fishing trip to a romantic sunset cruise.

There are also opportunities to hire scooters and explore the rest of the island or even just to cruise through nearby Matemwe village to learn a bit more about traditional cultures and customs. The Lala Spa is an amazing way to pamper yourself in these beautiful surroundings and offers a wide range of treatments.

The Sama Restaurant has a great menu with a focus on freshly caught seafood and food sourced from local suppliers while the infinity swimming pool and pool bar overlook the ocean and at low tide there is a white sandy beach.
