Footsteps is the authentic safari experience upholding the elegance and eccentricity of the original ‘under canvas African safari’. This is very intimate bush camp with a maximum of six guests where you really feel that you are experiencing nature. The focus is on exploration with guided walks at the forefront.

Footsteps is a comfortable private camp which accommodates guests in three specially designed twin bedded, insect proof tents with sewn-in floors. Each tent has its own bucket shower and ensuite “long drop”! The resident chef prepares unbelievable meals from the ‘bush kitchen’. This is the perfect blend of basics, which allows you to truly experience the bush, but with a touch of luxury.
The focus of your time at Footsteps will be on guided walks where you will learn about tracking wildlife and understanding animal movement, patterns and behaviour. Your guides will also teach you a great deal about trees, grasses and the bush environment in general. Being on foot instead of in a vehicle affords this unique perspective.
Walking in the Delta’s wilderness is the highlight of a ‘true safari’ experience. The focus is on exploration and discovery and you will learn how to track fresh spoor in the mornings to reveal the previous night’s events. You will also be able to enjoy game drives, mokoro (canoe) trips or fishing, which vary throughout the year.
Footsteps is located on a private concession on the Shinde lagoon, in the heart of the northern Okavango Delta and represents everything that we love about the bush. Sitting around a camp fire in the wild and going to sleep with the sounds of the bush is an experience that you will never forget.
