Experience ten indulgently romantic nights making your way from the African bush to the Cape coastline. Starting at Ngala Private Game Reserve in the Kruger National Park and a quick stopover in Johannesburg it is time to board to deluxe Rovos Rail Train that will take you on a luxury and scenic trip down to the vibrant city of Cape Town.

On arrival at OR Tambo International Airport you will be warmly welcomed by a member of the local team, who will help you onto a light aircraft flight to Ngala Private Game Reserve. Ngala shares an unfenced boundary with the world-renowned Kruger National Park. Elephant, leopard, spotted hyena, giraffe, buffalo and white rhino move freely from the Kruger meaning game viewing is as good as anywhere in the world. Meaning “lion” in Shangaan, Ngala lives up to its name; supporting several prides of these powerful cats. Cheetah and African wild dog also regularly move through the Reserve.
Indulge in two nights of romance under canvas at Ngala Tented Camp. Spend your nights in a deluxe tent with a massive bath and al fresco shower under open skies. Adventures include twice-daily game drives and nature walks. African nights are ideal for stargazing, while moonlit dinners in the dry riverbed and bush sundowners set an atmosphere of safari romance.
Johannesburg offers a night back in the big city and the suburb of Sandton offers upmarket shopping outlets, boutique stores and first-class eateries. Attractions include Sandton City Shopping Centre, Nelson Mandela Square – home to a six-metre tall statue of the former president – and the Montecasino complex, with its shops, restaurants, theatres and casinos, as well as the adjacent bird garden.
After a night in the big city you will be driven to Capital Park Station, where you will board the glamorous Rovos Rail.
Snaking through some of the greatest scenery on offer in South Africa, the Rovos Rail slows down the pace with dramatic vistas in superlative luxury. The train captures the romanticism of the colonial era with its beautifully restored engines and coaches. It has earned international acclaim for its world-class cuisine, five-star accommodation and choice of picturesque destinations and extraordinary travel packages.
Enjoy two nights in a Pullman Suite with ensuite facilities on board the Rovos Rail. Your stay includes three superb meals daily, served in the beautiful Victorian dining room, all alcohol (local wines and sparkling wines) and other beverages, sightseeing excursions, room service and bar facilities, government tax and a limited laundry service.
On arrival at Cape Town Station you will be welcomed by a member of the local team, who will drive you to your hotel. Vibrant, cosmopolitan and an eclectic mix of old and new, Cape Town is as much at home with its 17th century castle as it is with its sleek skyscrapers and trendy malls. Home to South Africa’s first mosque, its oldest wine farm, a 350-year-old garden and timelessly beautiful beaches Cape Town really is a city for everyone.
