Five "must do" experiences in Cape Town
Cape Town is undoubtedly one of the worlds greatest cities. It's unique combination of natural beauty, great atmosphere and wealth of activities makes it somewhere that everyone should take in on their travels. We bring you 5 experiences not to miss when you visit this city on the tip of Africa!
5. Swim with penguins
Take a dip at boulders beach on the Cape peninsula in Cape Town and sand might not be the only thing waiting for you on your towel when you get back!
The penguin colony resides on the beach next to boulder beach, but this doesn't stop them regularly darting between your legs during your refreshing swim. Go to the beach in the summer and you can relax, sunbathe and explore, while dodging the black and white birds...as its the penguins that own this area!
4. Explore Robben Island
This is one of the questions that everyone will ask you when you get back from Cape town...so you have to have something to tell them!
Take a half day trip to the former penal colony where Nelson Mandela spent 18 years of his life. The real attraction though, is that all the tour guides are ex-political prisoners, making it a truly authentic trip. There are 4 trips daily and they last about 3.5 hours. The island also provides stunning views across to Cape Town with the prominent table mountain as the backdrop.
3. Climb table mountain
I hope you brought your walking boots, as a climb (walk) up table mountain is one of the must do’s while staying in Cape Town.
Watch the cloud spill over the edge of the mountain and seemingly disappear whilst marvelling at the view of the incredible city that is Cape Town. The hike usually takes between 2-4 hours depending on your speed and is relatively easy, with just a few ladders to climb at various points. Don’t worry though...you can get the cable car down again!
2. Wine tasting
Pick your designated driver with care as you become an expert wine taster (and/or drinker) in the stellenbosch wine farms just outside Cape Town.
Relax and learn about the reds, whites, and dessert wines of the region which are considered some of the best in the world. You can visit a whole number of different farms in the area and the friendly experts will sit your group down to teach you all about the history of the wines. You never know...you might even decide to order a case!

This little jewel is situated 20m from the water’s edge in camps bay, Cape Town. Step straight off the beach, into the bar and sip on one of their perfect cocktails while looking out for numerous celebs that are known for hanging out there.
