Mozambique, having only escaped civil war in 1992, still remains a
relatively undiscovered travel secret. Although the roads in Mozambique are
gradually being improved, many of the hidden gems can only be accessed with
a 4x4 vehicle and journeys are often very lengthy with dirt tracks and much
of the tarred roads littered with potholes.
The more adventurous traveller is rewarded with some of the most beautiful
beaches on earth in Mozambique.
One of Pepper's favourite spots in Mozambique, Tofo, is nestled on the east
coast near the fishing town of Inhambane. Tofo is blessed with long
stretches of white sand, world class scuba diving with the famous manta ray
cleaning station, a quaint market where you can purchase your fresh tiger
prawns at sunrise, chilled but vibrant beach bars and restaurants and
uncrowded surf if you get lucky with the swell.
Tofo is a must for anyone looking to travel to Mozambique.
