Gap Year Experiences
Updates and info from on the ground during our 11 week and 5 week Experiences in South Africa
Wednesday 12 March 2008

As I mentioned in my last post, Sunday was a bitter-sweet day for everyone on the Pepper Experience. Marisa had to fly back to Cape Town to complete an STCW yachting qualification and is then heading off to the Caribean to start work on a yacht. Sailing around the world for a few months sounds amazing and we wish her an incredible trip. Marisa, just to let you know that you have made 8 friends for life on this trip and over the last few days since you left there are constant conversations about you. So know that you are being missed!
I thought I would mention a few of my highlights of her time with us:
Her decision to see what soap tastes like in Cape Town
Her constant salsa dancing, anywhere and everywhere (I swore that she would never rope me into it, until I suddenly realised that I was being whisked around the Caprice dance floor one Sunday night)
Her phone being lost, all the time...including a memorable quote: "damn! I think I've just flushed my phone down the toilet" Marisa, how you still have that phone, I will never know!
The look on her face just before she bungy jumped :)
Her mischevious side that first came out at a sushi restuarant in Cape Town and just got worse from there.
Her sneezing and hiccupping...endless hours of humour!
Her laughing fits...particularly at Johnnys fear of bugs.
Marisa, it was amazing travelling with you for the last 6 weeks. We have already had a number of phone calls and texts from you, so hopefully you're missing everyone here as well. Apparently she's spending her days (and nights) drinking free cocktails at Caprice so Cape Town is obviously treating her well!
Oh yeah, and I still owe you one for my chocolate!
