Check out this short music video for a colourful look at Cape Town's best spots being enjoyed by its beautiful locals! This capetonian band took their camera everywhere and shot some cool scenes on a budget of pretty much nothing but as you can see, there's no need for filters and photoshop in here - this place really is this amazing - enjoy!
Welcome to the world's most extreme golf hole! It's the longest par 3 in the world and from the tee (only accessible by helicopter) it takes the ball 20 seconds to come to rest on the Africa-shaped green 430 metres below.

This picture gives you some idea of the view that awaits you at the 19th tee but have a watch of this short video below to see how the 2008 Open Champion Padraig Harrington got on...
As if each of the 18 holes being designed by a different pro golfer wasn't enough, the Legend Golf & Safari resort in Limpopo topped it off with the creation of a 400 yard par 3 which involves a helicopter ride just to get to the tee. From the top of the Hanglip Mountain you'll need a pretty good set of eyes to see your ball land but make the green and you'll stand a good chance of making it onto the leaderboard alongside names like Lewis Hamilton, Morgan Freeman and Sergio Garcia!
Former West Indies cricketer Franklyn Stephenson has somehow managed a birdie on this beast but we reckon that even finding your ball once you get off the chopper and onto the fairway would be an achievement.
Whether you know your albatrosses from your anti-shanks or you're of Mark Twain's opinion that "golf is a good walk spoiled", you've got to agree that this is a golf hole to shake things up a bit.
This is not what you expect when you're out on your boat enjoying the sunshine and beautiful views in Cape Town's Table Bay! The capetonian couple got a bit more than they bargained for when they were out whale watching last month...

Southern Right Whales come to the South African coast between July and November to mate and the males have some pretty flamboyant ways of attracting the ladies' attention but even still, this was a rare occurrence indeed and a big shock for the couple on board. They escaped totally unhurt but the beast from the deep did some pretty major damage to the mast, and yet they insist that the incident won't stop them from continuing their boat trips in search of whales.
On a total change of tack, the Pepper team are keeping their fingers crossed for all of you out there who are anxiously waiting for A-level results tomorrow. Best of luck to everyone!

So it’s that time of the year again in Cape Town when some of us are actually sneakily looking forward to the coming winter. I know it sounds like sacrilege in a city in which the mountain and sea and outdoor living is a religion, but there is a lot about winter that you just have to love.
I love fireplaces as that constantly smell of burnt wood and the fact that you can drink about 10 cups of tea a day and no one thinks you are strange. I love taking a walk in Newlands forest with a vague risk that it might start pouring with rain. I love going to Rafiki’s and watching the Super 14 rugby with hundreds of others who found a good enough reason to venture out in the cold. I love drinking red wine around a dinner table with friends listening to the rain outside. I love soup. I love driving through the huge piles of brown leaves. I love thick coats, scarves and a pair of cosy Ugg boots. I love the way that sometimes Table Mountain just disappears for days on end and then all of a sudden you wake up and the sun is out and the mountain is there, and just for that one day the whole of Cape Town pretends it’s summer again. We are out and about. Climbing the mountain, cruising through markets, shops and street side cafe’s, we even go to the beach and watch the sunset. We have braai’s while the rugby is on and walk around in flip flops, shorts and t-shirts. Sometimes we sit around the pool and even just watch the mountain and the sun. On days like this its about the white wine and sunglasses.
This I have to say is favourite part of winter in Cape Town, the days when we are reminded for a brief moment of just how good the summer is going to be. This excites us. Without winter summer would almost just become boring and that essential winter season is coming.
