Foreign cultures, romance, strange languages, distant beaches, sunsets and sunrises (often with no sleep in between the two) and maybe even a bit of studying (but the good kind that involves being on the beach, not the classroom). If there is ever a travelling experience that involves almost unlimited and exciting new experiences (and hangovers), it’s your gap year. White sandy beaches, crystal clear oceans, secret backstreet bars; it’s all there for your taking!
Pepper gap years are an experience for people who want something more out of their travels. We have designed them by looking at our own gap years, the gap years of everyone we know and speaking to more people than we can remember about what they would fit into a perfect gap year.
A lot of research, a bit of experience and some trial and error has resulted in what we believe is the most well rounded and complete gap year experience you will find. The basic features we decided that are essential to any self-respecting gap year trip are as follows:
- Something useful that you can take away from the year and keep forever. Maybe get involved in a charity project of some kind, or learn a new skill. Whatever it is, have a solid experience of some kind!
- A group of like-minded people to share things with (there is definitely a time and a place for solo soul searching, but a gap year should be about meeting people.
- Live somewhere new and really experience it rather than just passing through. You have more time and freedom than most people ever have in their whole lives. This gives you a real chance to really immerse yourself in a place from the inside.
- A large amount of travelling, with as many varied experiences a s you can possibly pack in along the way.
There you have it, the Pepper blueprint for a perfect gap year trip…
