A stop-over in Windhoek is usually just that. If catching your breath in the comfort of Olive Grove and a good meal out isn’t going to do it for you, venture just out of town for sundowner ride on horseback or get immersed in the story of Namibia’s independence at the Alte Feste Museum.

Olive Grove is tucked away in a peaceful leafy suburb called Klein Windhoek but still only a very short distance to the city centre. Windhoek is almost bang in the middle of the country and sits on a plain at 1,650 metres above sea level. Relatively green compared to the rest of the country, the city’s suburbs are in a beautiful valley bordered by the Eros Mountains in the north and the Auas Mountains in the south.

Our Opinion:
JP and Florence make the difference; ever-present at Olive Grove, they love their country (and their olive grove!) and are never too busy to answer your questions. Doing just enough doesn’t come into it for them, whether it’s recommending a restaurant that’ll be perfect for you or extra pillows for guaranteed sleep before for that night before your flight, they’re on hand.
